Weekly #3

We have only a week left in Sri Lanka. We can’t believe how time flies! It has been an extremely relaxed time here so far, the last few days we are going to be a bit more active though. We will be going to inland to Ella and Kandi. There we are going to do some hikes, see tea plantations and experience the train ride, that is said to be the most beautiful in the world.

We are quite slow travelers. We dont mind spending a bit more time in one place at the time, if we really like it there. In the last accommodation we stayed here in Sri Lanka, we spend 5 nights. We even managed to create a small daily routine, which we quite enjoyed.

Our traveling pace is roughly 1 month per country, though there will be a few exceptions. We travel slowly as we find it to be a more sustainable way of travel (we try to avoid flying whenever possible) but also a good way to experience the country a bit more throughout. We could probably easily spend double the time in each country, but at this moment we feel like this pace will work for us. Moving around a lot can get quite tiring. That’s why we try to base ourselves for a week somewhere every now and then.

We have tried to work on our blog and to fix our first YouTube video (slow Wifi is not our friend). In addition, we take photos, sort them out and edit. All this is surprisingly time consuming. We have managed to keep track of everything so far, but this has required us to get more organized. We will try to keep on publishing two blog posts a week plus our weekly updates.

Weekly #3

The next two months we will be moving around quite a lot. We wont reveal our whole plan yet, but if you have followed us in Instagram, you might already know that India will be our next destination. We are really excited about it, but also very interested to see how we are going to like it. Seems like many people say that you either love or hate India. Let’s see in which category we will fall!

Meanwhile, we will enjoy our last week in Sri Lanka. One thing we will definitely miss after leaving here is food! We love that it has been so easy finding plant-based food here. Yesterday we even treated ourselves with some vegan ice cream. Most of the time we try to keep our food cost down, but who can resist a yummy nice cream every now and then!
